- Improve iCal and its .Mac features
- I would like to assign one event to several calendars. Maybe “tagging” is the right word. And I can’t understand why I can’t see my calendar on my .Mac page — what’s the point of the calendar on .Mac anyhow?
- Yojimbo! is what the Web Receipts Folder should have been
- Yojimbo! is a little appblication to keep track of various snippets of data, such as passwords and flight reservations. The Mac OS has a “Print to Web Receipts Folder”, but that’s flawed because a new document with the same name will silently overwrite the old file (and several of the eCommerce sites I use have the same document name for all their receipts).
- Apple Mail improvements
- I want support for the Mail-Followup-To: header or some other way to handle mailing lists more graciously. Also, the AppleScript support in Mail has bugs.
- An RSS aggregator
- Reading feeds in Safari doesn’t cut it. I want an RSS reader that combines the best parts of NetNewsWire and NewsFire.
- Real FTP support
- The FTP support (and SFTP?) needs a lot of work. I use CyberDuck, and it’s really nice, but this should be integrated into the Finder so that remote disks can be integrated and also accessed from Save and Open dialogs in all applications.
- Tabbed browsing
- The thing that annoys me most in Safari is that the Cmd-< or Cmd-Tab equivalent for changing tabs is Cmd-{ and Cmd-{, which on a swedish keyboard means pressing three modifier keys in addition to 8 or 9. This will be even worse when more applications get tabs. I just discovered that there is a secret shortcut to switch tabs: Cmd-Shift-[Left|Right]-Arrow.
- Keyboard shortcut for main window
- In iTunes, Cmd-1 brings up the main window. Why don’t iCal and Address Book have the same to bring up their “main window”?
- Sync’ing addresses
- Just started using Plaxo to sync with my (work) Windows machines. Noticed a problem with mobile phone sync: You can only choose to sync all addresses, or addresses in one category. I want to select several categories, and maybe even smart categories.
- Better handling of the Cmd key with menus in the bookmark bar
- I want to be able to open a bookmark that’s in a menu in the bookmarks bar in a new tab. This is not possible because Cmd-click means open all bookmarks in tabs, and click-Cmd doesn’t work either.
- To be continued…
- Better use of more than one hard disk
- I have an extensive music collection in iTunes and quite some pictures in iPhoto. On my iBook G4, that means my hard disk is almost full. Therefore I’m really annoyed that the iLife applications can’t work with directories anywhere but on my internal hard disk, in my home directory.

I always switched tabs in Safari by pressing Cmd-ö and Cmd-ä respectively… Yes, on a svenskt tangentbord.

Doesn’t seem to work in vanilla Safari 2.0.4 though…
