I love French words for new technology: clavardage (chat), courriel and, now, balladodiffusion (podcasting).

Yesterday I was in rainy Gothenburg to take part in a Concours to become a EU civil servant. It was good fun, even though my essay probably was so-so. This time, I did get through all the numerical and verbal reasoning tasks, which I didn’t manage last time in the computer-based testing. EU Observer (with an annoying pop-under) wrote that a total of 20′000 people sat the test. In Gothenburg, there were desks for about 100; one third never showed up and another third gave up during the test.

Hörde på nyheterna at Bosse Ringholm (för dagen kallad Bo, eller Båsse som som det sades på norsk tv) ska vara utrikesminister fram till att parti’t har hittat en ersättare.

Jag ska resa till utlandet idag. Danmark. Bäst att ta med det tyska passet.

Inte att Bosse R är en dålig politiker. Men jag kunde ha tänkt mig många andra i nuvarande regering som jag hellre ville satt in som t.f. utrikesminister. Leif Pagrotsky till exempel. Men det är klart, titeln som vice statsminister betyder ju också förstevikarie…

We went to the the Oscar-winning Johnny Cash movie Walk the Line yesterday. Joaquin Phoenix as the man in black and Reese Witherspoon as June Carter were fantastic, and I absolutely recommend the movie!

However, given that I wrote a little paper on Johnny Cash for music class in 10th grade, I did miss some songs, in particular the Orange Blossom Special and How High’s the Water, Mama?

The name of the song apparently is Five Feet High and Rising.

Noen av dere vet om at jeg har en liten forkjærlighet for rare brussorter. Derfor var det nesten som å komme til himmelen å komme til Molde: her har de en lokal mineralvannfabrikk som produserer Ananasbrus og Pærebrus!
