Support Taciana!
Most of you will already have heard about this, but in case you haven’t, here’s the brief: Taciana Khoma, a Belarusian student, has been elected to the executive committee of ESIB at the board meeting in France. Upon her return, she was expelled both from her university (the Belarus state economical university in Minsk) and from her dormitory.
This is obviously completely inacceptable. Luckily, ESIB has quite a good network, and a lot of people have protested against this treatment. See the ESIB web site for some more info, and then move on to the StL web site to sign the petition.
Update
Check out the hilariously-funny-despite-itself open letter that the dear rector published on the front page of the BSEU web site.
Update 2
Unfortunately, the open letter has been removed. Luckily, our friends at EUA have made a copy. EUA has also suspended the university’s membership and written two very to-the-point letters.
